    Abhishek Warrier: I recently had the pleasure of attending a Peruvian cooking class organized by the talented chef Arthur, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience!From the moment I walked into the class, I could feel the passion and expertise of Chef Arthur. He had everything set up perfectly, with all the necessary ingredients and cooking tools neatly arranged on the countertops.The class began with an introduction to Peruvian cuisine, and Chef Arthur gave us a brief history of the different flavors and ingredients that make up this unique culinary tradition. He also provided us with helpful tips on how to properly prepare and cook each dish.Throughout the class, Chef Arthur was patient and engaging, guiding us through the steps of preparing a delicious Peruvian meal. We learned how to make classic dishes such as Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Chicha Morada and Pisco Sour, and each one turned out absolutely delicious.One thing that really stood out to me was Chef Arthur's attention to detail. He made sure that each dish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and he was always on hand to answer any questions we had.Overall, I would highly recommend Chef Arthur's Peruvian cooking class to anyone who loves to cook or is interested in learning more about this fascinating cuisine.     Felice Rivellese: Amazing experience. Arthur was very welcoming, more than just explaining and guiding you through the recipes he shared his love for his country and the Peruvian cousine. This is a true experience, not simply a touristic activity. You get to use a professional kitchen and Arthur shares a few basic techniques for cutting, stir frying etc If you are in Arequipa and you like cooking/eating (no previous experience is needed) this shouldn't be missed!!

We learned about cooking techniques, knive skills, perviuan food culture, a bit about food science and the best recipes for ceviche and lomo saltado.Compared to other cooking classes this one does not skip the most interesting steps and you will cook everything from scratch. Arthur can share his cooking knowledge in fluent english (and surprisingly with bits of Dutch, German and other languages).The class was fun and he encouraged the communication between guests. We even finished the afternoon with the other participants in a bar closeby.Two nitpicks: the knives were a bit dull and I would have loved to also learn a classic Arequipan dish.
    Denise: Very good experience! Besides the recipes we also learned a lot about cooking techniques. Making the lomo saltado was very spectacular with a LOT of fire. Also it was the best lomo saltado i have eaten in peru!

Arthur has lived in Europe for several years, speaks an excellent English and will explain not only explain some technical details but also how you will be able to make your delicious meals at home when not all ingredients are easily available. Great teacher with much knowledge.

Arthur taught us some culinary tricks to improve our cooking at home, took time to describe the dishes and steps ahead of time, and was very helpful during the cooking process. He was very engaging, had fantastic English and even took pictures and videos throughout the class for us! Can't recommend this enough!
    Martin Einarsson: Great experience! Arthur is a very pedagogical teacher that explains and shows how things should be done and then you try it yourself. We did the Criollo menu and both the Ceviche and Lomo Saltado de Alpaca turned out great. Highly recommended!

    Victor Liu: Cordón Blue style of instruction.. my sister and I cook casually at home but we were able to follow along with Chef Arthur. He explained the subtleties very well. The Chupe de Camarones and Rocoto Relleno rivales the ones made by the Picanterias :). I will definitely be coming back for more classes next week. I've done cooking classes in Napa Valley in California before and this was way better. High value, under marketed. Can't miss!

    Joost de Groot: Unfortunately, not a very good experience. The class started late. During the class “experience” it was not clear what was going to be cooked. No recipes were provided to the people participating. Following we solely needed to cut some food preparing for the cooking which was done by the instructor and not by the participants. Cooking techniques were not clear. The dishes were not tasteful. All in all a strange and disappointing experience.
    Rik Kotter: We booked a cooking class this morning through our hostel that was supposed to be at 4pm (they also have an 11am option). However, slightly after 11am they called us to cancel our class. Since we're leaving tomorrow to Colca Canyon and the morning class has just started, that means we can't a cooking class anymore in Arequipa because of this cancellation.Although we would have still preferred the 4pm option, would they have communicated earlier that they would cancel it, we could've lived with the menu of the morning class, but not even that was possible now.And yes, we know today is the feast of Santa Rosa de Lima (a holiday), but that does not excuse the poor communication on their behalf.

It was just us 2 but the teacher was really helpful and informative, they laid pout the table door us to eat our food and had prepped everything so we came in, learnt how to cut and then cook the food. it was delicious!Bi lingual teacher so we could have the lesson in English, really enjoyed it and look forward to making the dishes when we’re home with the instructions

    maureen ba: First of all the activity started 15min late while we were asked to arrive 10 min in advance... Not nice.We did the Lomo saltado class, we were 3 people. We paid 75 soles each for 2 hours class. It went well, we did one small meal and then Lomo saltado. It was OK because the chef is really nice but if I have to rate the class, it was not the best.First of all the class lasted 1h45min and during it we ate the meal so we only cooked 1h15min maybe. It did not learn much as the was not technical part, it was really basic.I did not learn anything about Peruvian history or culture and the ingredient were basic, nothing so local.I spent a good moment thanks to the chef but honestly the class is disappointing.

    Lieke Milder: This fairly new cooking class is of really good value. Chef Harol taught us classic Peruvian dishes like ceviche, lomo saltado and as a dessert the famous 'Pisco Sour'. These dishes aren't too complicated, but they were full of flavour. Weird to say about something you prepared yourself, but it was the best ceviche and lomo saltado I've had so far, and I tried many more before in my travels. Also the place is cosy and the kitchen is spotless.

Although the place is beautiful and comfortable and the attention of one of the waiters was very good, and the food was very tasty. But what we went to was to try drinks from the PISCO MUSEUM! It was a total disappointment, we had to ask for 4 drinks to be corrected, because the bartender forgot to put the rubber on the drinks, so the experience was very bad. I do not recommend it at all!!

Comptez environ 20 minutes d'attente au minimum.Pour la nourriture, nous avons attendu près de deux heures nos plats, pour 30 minutes annoncées : sans saveur, viande trop cuite et trop sèche, beaucoup de plats indisponibles. L'un de nous n'a même pas été servi, on suppose qu'ils ont oublié. Nous avons été prévenu environ 40 minutes après le passage de notre commande que certains plats ne pouvaient être réalisés.À peine servis, on nous presse de terminer : le bar va fermer. La note est salée, et le ticket de caisse n'était pas le bon. Aucun geste commercial n'a été appliqué. Une expérience très décevante.Passez votre chemin, vous trouverez bien meilleur et beaucoup moins cher ailleurs !
    Doriane Das: Ne vous fiez pas au nom, ce n’est pas un musée mais un bar d’alcool. Nous avons pris un Pisco soir et un autre au fruit de la passion. Nous avons trouvé les cocktails trop alcoolisés et un peu lourd à boire. Le prix était très cher (28 soles chaque boisson)!

Located on top of hotel “le foyer”.Can only recommend the pisco sour workshops in the afternoon. Very friendly team, a variety of flavors which they steep into the pisco themselves. My favorite is the maracuya and sancaya, the latter also known as colca sour. Special thanks to Lisbeth for the insights into pisco culture!

    Ash K: Had an awesome trip to the Colca Canyon with Jesus and Julio. Jesus is so knowledgable and friendly, we felt instantly in safe hands. The accommodation was lovely - it even had hot showers which we weren’t expecting!The only reason I have given this 4 stars rather than 5 is because for the lunch and dinner on the first day, the only option available was to eat at the hotel, which was fine but it cost 35 soles each. Which isn’t too bad, but if you are a backpacker on a budget - it’s quite steep for both meals! As it is the only food option available, I think it should be included in the price of the tour. Other than that, great trip, thank you so much Julio & Jesus. 😊

    Weeble L: We had an exceptional tour with Giardino Tours while in Arequipa and Colca Canyon, thru to Puno. The tour was booked through the tour company so we were not sure what to expect. Both were group tours but the first ended up being just my husband and I and the colca canyon tour only had 5 people. We were lucky enough to have the same guide for both tours. Antonio is amazing. His passion, love, and knowledge of his city and country is infectious. Without Antonio it would have just been another tour. We did many tours in the two weeks we were there and Antonio was the best guide by far. We were disappointed when we had to leave us in Puno.

A guia Olivia foi bastante informativa e simpática. O motorista dirige de forma muito tranquila e não passa dos 80Km/h. Isso realmente deve ser muito valorizado, pois os motoristas peruanos são loucos, agressivos e extremamente imprudentes. Assim, ter um motorista tranquilo é realmente muito tranqulizador.Os horários são um pouco corridos e não se consegue muito aproveitar o Hotel Casa de Mamaychi em Coporaque (que tem uma vista espetacular). Mas isso é compreensível tendo em vista o número de atividades e as distâncias envolvidas.Recomendo muito que fechem com a Giardino. Apesar dos valores as vezes um pouco mais elevados, a qualidade é realmente muito boa.Contras:- Espere gastar mais uma quantia considerável em "extras". As refeições no Hotel não são nada baratas!- Minha noiva fala principalmente espanhol e 90% dos demais turistas só entendiam Inglês. Com isso, percebemos que as explicações em espanhol acabavam sendo mais curtas ou comprometidas em alguns momentos. Portanto, se for falante de espanhol, certifique-se de que o guia falará sua língua. Ou melhor, feche um tour só com falantes de espanhol!

Der Ausflug war super organisiert und unsere Reiseführerin Milagros war einfach nur fantastisch. Sie versorgte uns während den Busfahrten mit vielen Informationen über die Geschichte, Traditionen, Region, Einheimischen, Tierwelt etc...     Marianna C.: Abbiamo prenotato direttamente presso i loro uffici di Arequipa un tour privato per il giorno seguente (Ruta del Sillar y Quebrada de Culebrillas). La prenotazione è stata davvero semplice e la referente dell'agenzia è stata molto disponibile nello spiegarci lo svolgimento dell'attività e fornirci tutte le informazioni relative. Il prezzo è in linea con quello di altri tour operator organizzati per un tour privato (agosto 2022 $45 per persona). Il mattino seguente la nostra guida ci ha raggiunti in hotel insieme ad un autista dedicato. Tutto si è svolto in modo puntuale e la guida ha organizzato gli orari in modo da evitare la folla per avere più tempo a nostra disposizione. Inoltre è stata molto disponibile nel fornirci le informazioni durante la visita e anche alcuni consigli extra sulla città e sulle attività in generale. Abbiamo ricevuto acqua e uno snack durante la mattinata. In generale un buon servizio!
    Mary A: I decided to hire a travel agency for Arequipa as this was the first time for my 11 year old daughter in the Andes. Best decision! We felt safe and well taken care from day one. The agency helped us with all the arrangements to make our stay relax and pleasant. In the end it was me the one suffering from altitude sickness but our tour guide had lot of experience and she helped me to go through it with love and care. We thank our both tour guides Gerbert and Olivia for being so passionate about the stories they shared, for taking care of us and for showing us Arequipa and their beautiful places.     C C: We booked our 2 days/1 night Colca Tour and transfer to Puno with Giardino Tours. Since we had our accommodation in the Colca valley already booked and wanted to transfer to Puno not directly but after some days the schedule of the tour had to be adjusted. Adela took care of everything and was checking on us frequently via our tour guide or directly via WhatsApp. We were told the names of our tour guides/taxidrivers and the pick-up times in advance and never got forgotten or were late.Giardino Tours has some companies they work with, so we did the Colca canyon tour with Colonial Tours (which was great!) (maybe it is cheaper if you book directly with them), and the transfer to Puno with another company ( forgot the name, but it was okay, since the tour guide wasn't that good and we had some delay arriving in Puno).Although the prices are higher if you compare them to the prices you can get in the city centre of Arequipa for the same tour we chose Giardino Tours because they seemed to be more professional (they have a proper office instead of being located in some tourist shop) and only had good reviews comparing to other tour operators. Since we booked the Colca tour plus the transfer we got some discount on the final price. Summarising it was a good experience and we would recommend to book with this tour operator being aware that you are paying a higher price than in other places.

Ella logró que tuvieramos la mejor experiencia gastronomica en Arequipa desde la entrada, el plato de fondo, el postre, la recomendación del vino y sobretodo la atención ante alergias.Dietary restrictions: Siempre es bueno recordar acerca de las posibles alergias o restricciones al mesero a cargo de nosotros. En nuestro caso Dana nos explico que contenia cada plato y que cambio se podia hacer para evitar consumir algo que nos de alergia.
