Miguel Angel Alvarez: The Monastery keeps a part of the history of Arequipa from the viceregal era until the previous century, you can appreciate what the life of the religious women of that time was like. The buildings, paintings and objects are of high historical value, pride for the Arequipeños and Peruvians who have visited

Senna
Senna: A great way to spend a few hours of your day, and an absolute recommendation for Antigua. The monastery is very big, and there are signs in almost every room explaining the significance of certain tools/spaces in English and Spanish. I would say you won't necessarily need a tour if you search for the info signs. The colours are lovely, and it's just beautiful all around. Perfect place to learn some history.Only downside were the prices, they are quite high at 45PEN for an adult.

Casa Andina Premium Arequipa: what do users think?
Ebert Gustavo Aponte Valdiviezo
Ebert Gustavo Aponte Valdiviezo: Casa Andina Private Collection Arequipa is built on the old Casa de la Moneda, a national historic monument built in 1794, which makes our hotel more of a living museum than a hotel. Its strategic location just a few blocks from Arequipa's Plaza de Armas make it the ideal option for business travelers and tourists. It has 40 rooms – 100% non-smoking, including an Imperial Suite and two Senior Suites.

Manly Matt Schulman
Manly Matt Schulman: Highly recommended. Although almost every hotel we stayed in on our Peru trip was a Casa Andina property, this was the best of them. The location is close enough to the center of town to be easily walkable, but out of its busiest area. It is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff was helpful and polite. As a side note, we came with rudimentary Spanish, but didn't need it here -- the staff's English was far better than our Spanish. The breakfast was impressive, even including a pleasant performance by a local musician. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and they even included a little nosh as a treat for our anniversary. Certainly a fine place to stay when you visit Arequipa.

LDGPJCSF
LDGPJCSF: It has a Latin cross floor plan and consists of three naves, deep side chapels, a transept and a dome on pendentives. The temple and the façade, like the rest of the colonial monuments in the city of Arequipa, are made of ashlar stone, which is porous, very white, very easy to carve and the one that is best suited for ornamental work. The main facade, in mestizo baroque style, stands out as one of the masterpieces —head of the series— of South American colonial decoration. It is distinguished by treating the relief on the surface and not in depth. The main facade of the church was rebuilt in 1698 after an earthquake.Although it belongs to the second half of the 17th century, its influence extends throughout the 18th century, not only in Arequipa, but also in the Peruvian territory. The novelty that begins with this flat decoration is to use native elements. American motifs, plants, animals and resurrected themes from pre-Hispanic mythology mixed with European motifs, which cover the façade with true horror of emptiness.Inside, the main altar stands out, one of the most beautiful in Arequipa, which boasts in the central part one of the best paintings, The Virgin with the Child, by the Italian painter Bernardo Bitti, who arrived in Peru in 1575.

Eduardo Antonio Molinari Novoa
Eduardo Antonio Molinari Novoa: Beautiful place where the victory of the Hispanic culture of these parts, which is mestizo and viceroyalty, can be clearly appreciated. A must-see place to learn about history and art, and, of course, to pray in communion with the centuries.

A conseiller

For us members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, let us not forget the importance of the temple in order to be on the path of the sacred covenants. And for the visitors, know that in this temple the presence of God the father and creator dwells and is present; because this temple is on sacred ground that was chosen by him. Let's make our agreements and enjoy that moment of peace that this wonderful place that is the house of God grants..Its surroundings are full of green areas, the maintenance of the temple in its entirety is excellent. There is always staff doing maintenance in some area. Its flowers, its fields and everything around it is something that you can freely enjoy..As for the interior of the temple, we know that only those who have a recommendation from the church can enter. But if you did not have the opportunity, I can tell you that inside you will only find the best, because once again, I repeat, this is the house of the Lord 😊💜
