Manly Matt Schulman: Highly recommended. Although almost every hotel we stayed in on our Peru trip was a Casa Andina property, this was the best of them. The location is close enough to the center of town to be easily walkable, but out of its busiest area. It is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff was helpful and polite. As a side note, we came with rudimentary Spanish, but didn't need it here -- the staff's English was far better than our Spanish. The breakfast was impressive, even including a pleasant performance by a local musician. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and they even included a little nosh as a treat for our anniversary. Certainly a fine place to stay when you visit Arequipa.

Tigi Saron Manfroi: This hotel is one of the best and busiest hotels for its location, with enough space and cleanliness. We have traveled to many places, but we have never seen workers as arrogant as the ones that work in this specific hotel. Without Roberto from the reception and José from the restaurant, this hotel would have been the worst place to stay.But I don't want to leave without mentioning the view of the cathedral from that point is impeccable especially at night.

The entire team at Tierra Viva in Arequipa (and Lima Miraflores) has been nothing but accommodating in taking care of little things, like storing our luggage when we were out of town AND bringing it upstairs without being asked, being greeted at the door, courtesy chocolates and fantastic (and included) breakfast service. The rooms are well appointed and quaint but stylishly furnished. People make the difference and the staff's kindness was remarkable.
