Dan Rowe: I moved to Arequipa at the beginning of January 2013, since then I have taken Spanish classes at three different institutes. I always found them to be a chore and a necessity that had to be done. That was until I started having lessons at Cepesma Idiomas in December 2013.Cecilia, through her teaching, has somehow made my Spanish lessons to be one of the highlights of my week and something that I look forward to going to. As a result my Spanish has improved tenfold.At other institutes I was just inundated with sheets of paper that had rules and exercises but with Cecilia, she makes sure that you really understand and always has a different exercise waiting if your attention starts to waiver.I cannot recommend Cepesma Idiomas enough and believe it will be one of the best decisions you make on your trip to Arequipa.Cepesma Idiomas also offer home stays, even though I have not stayed there personally, I have seen the accommodation and it looks very nice and what better way to improve your Spanish than staying with a Peruvian family.If you're thinking of taking Spanish lessons in Peru, head to Cepesma Idiomas!

He had everything set up perfectly, with all the necessary ingredients and cooking tools neatly arranged on the countertops.The class began with an introduction to Peruvian cuisine, and Chef Arthur gave us a brief history of the different flavors and ingredients that make up this unique culinary tradition. He also provided us with helpful tips on how to properly prepare and cook each dish.Throughout the class, Chef Arthur was patient and engaging, guiding us through the steps of preparing a delicious Peruvian meal. We learned how to make classic dishes such as Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Chicha Morada and Pisco Sour, and each one turned out absolutely delicious.One thing that really stood out to me was Chef Arthur's attention to detail. He made sure that each dish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and he was always on hand to answer any questions we had.Overall, I would highly recommend Chef Arthur's Peruvian cooking class to anyone who loves to cook or is interested in learning more about this fascinating cuisine. Felice Rivellese: Amazing experience. Arthur was very welcoming, more than just explaining and guiding you through the recipes he shared his love for his country and the Peruvian cousine. This is a true experience, not simply a touristic activity. You get to use a professional kitchen and Arthur shares a few basic techniques for cutting, stir frying etc If you are in Arequipa and you like cooking/eating (no previous experience is needed) this shouldn't be missed!!

David Scheppus: Super Kochkurs! Wir haben extrem viel Wissen vermittelt bekommen. Jeder konnte alle Schritte selber machen und dazu seine Messerfertigkeiten ausbessern. Wir haben uns gefühlt wie richtige Kochlehrlinge! Wir haben zwei Gänge gekocht und bekamen noch Getränke dazu. Absolute Empfehlung für alle Koch- und Essensbegeisterte aller Niveaus!
Simon Schneider: This cooking class was great! We learned about cooking techniques, knive skills, perviuan food culture, a bit about food science and the best recipes for ceviche and lomo saltado.Compared to other cooking classes this one does not skip the most interesting steps and you will cook everything from scratch. Arthur can share his cooking knowledge in fluent english (and surprisingly with bits of Dutch, German and other languages).The class was fun and he encouraged the communication between guests. We even finished the afternoon with the other participants in a bar closeby.Two nitpicks: the knives were a bit dull and I would have loved to also learn a classic Arequipan dish.
Denise: Very good experience! Besides the recipes we also learned a lot about cooking techniques. Making the lomo saltado was very spectacular with a LOT of fire. Also it was the best lomo saltado i have eaten in peru!

Arthur has lived in Europe for several years, speaks an excellent English and will explain not only explain some technical details but also how you will be able to make your delicious meals at home when not all ingredients are easily available. Great teacher with much knowledge.
Connor: We absolutely loved our cooking class through Peruvian flavours. Arthur taught us some culinary tricks to improve our cooking at home, took time to describe the dishes and steps ahead of time, and was very helpful during the cooking process. He was very engaging, had fantastic English and even took pictures and videos throughout the class for us! Can't recommend this enough!
Martin Einarsson: Great experience! Arthur is a very pedagogical teacher that explains and shows how things should be done and then you try it yourself. We did the Criollo menu and both the Ceviche and Lomo Saltado de Alpaca turned out great. Highly recommended!

Victor Liu: Cordón Blue style of instruction.. my sister and I cook casually at home but we were able to follow along with Chef Arthur. He explained the subtleties very well. The Chupe de Camarones and Rocoto Relleno rivales the ones made by the Picanterias :). I will definitely be coming back for more classes next week. I've done cooking classes in Napa Valley in California before and this was way better. High value, under marketed. Can't miss!

Nancy Samson: I highly recommend CEICA Spanish School as it will greatly enhance your ability to communicate in Spanish. It is a warm and comfortable environment (the classes are held outside in a pleasant garden) and the class time flies by quickly. My teacher Ada was very helpful and extremely patient as I worked to improve my basic understanding of Spanish. She was very creative in applying various teaching styles and practices as she pushed me to improve my spanish vocabulary and communication skills beyond the beginner level. It is surprising the amount of progress one can make in a small amount of time while attending the school.

Jamie T: I had a wonderful experience at CEICA Peru Spanish Language School! It is run by a lovely family who made me feel like part of the family. All the classes are one-on-one and the teachers I had were professional, kind, and made the lessons fun. I signed up for a program where my teacher also guided me through town every afternoon to see the historical sites and learn about Peruvian and Arequipan culture. Sofia, who runs the school, also made all the arrangements for trips to Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca. I chose to live at the school, where I had a nice suite. Another student lived with a local family. Sofia will arrange whatever accommodations you prefer. I was traveling alone, but didn't feel alone once I arrived at the school. I highly recommend CEiCA Peru!
Daniel Tanner: Ich bezog 2 Wochen à 3 Std. pro Tag Privatunterricht mit Emilio Zuniga. Vom ersten Moment an hatte die Chemie gestimmt. Der Unterricht fand im gut gepflegten Garten im Innenhof statt. Emilio hat den Unterricht auf mich individuell angepasst und ist sehr systematisch vorgegangen. Er hat das Maximum aus mir herausgeholt. Auch das Backoffice unterstützt einen, wenn nötig. Den Unterricht in Ceica und speziell mit Emilio kann ich sehr empfehlen.
Rory White: I spent a week and a half at Ceica Peru and had a great time. The classes were 1 on 1 and my teacher was extremely helpful so my Spanish improved a lot. Everything was very well organised and the service was brilliant. The accommodation was great and in a good location for shops and not far from the centre. And if I ever needed anything e.g. a taxi or medicine, then Sofia was always there to help. I can't recommend Ceica Peru enough.

My teacher was also great and really helped me improve my Spanish so quickly in the 2 weeks I was there. Ich habe mich super wohl gefühlt und viel Spaß beim Lernen mit meiner Lehrerin Claudia gehabt. Es war eine tolle Zeit, ich habe viel gelernt und auf meine individuellen Bedürfnisse konnte Claudia jeder Zeit super eingehen. Der Unterricht fand auf Grund des schönen Wetters im schattigen Garten statt, was die lockere Atmosphäre noch unterstrichen hat und ich mich nicht in meine Schulzeit zurückversetzt gefühlt hatte, wo man bei jeder Nachfrage des Lehrers halb unter dem Tisch verschwunden ist, um ja nicht dran zu kommen. Ich kann die Schule nur jedem empfehlen. Auch Sofia, die alles super organisiert hat, war sehr nett. Rund um zufrieden. Nun heißt es für mich weiter üben üben üben und die gelernten Grundstrukturen festigen.
Melissa Rogan: I spent 3 weeks studying basic / intermediate spanish here in feb 2020 whilst staying with a host family organised by the school. I cannot rate this school highly enough. The staff and teachers were incredibly accommodating, in that I was able to go through the material at my pace and focus on improving my conversational skills. My lessons each day were conducted one on one in the lovely garden, with the occasional hummingbird dropping by.My host family were lovely and I was able to spend breakfasts and dinners at the table with the family immersing myself in Spanish conversation. Both the school and the homestay in Cayma were a comfortable walking distance (20 minutes) from each other and the main town centre.Would highly recommend to anyone 😊Y gracias de nuevo CEICA por la maravillosa experiencia, ahora yo sueño en español 😊
jürgen barthelmes: in february 2020 i spent three weeks at the Ceica language school. initially i only wanted to take a two weeks course. but i enjoyed it so much, that i decided to stay longer.it was obvious that my profesora had a lot of experience with language students, she was able to make difficult contents entertaining for me and the time passed by quickly.i never had the feeling of pressure or that i felt stupid.the textbook was accompanied by short stories, that were really interesting and gave you additional views on latinamerican culture.the lessons generally take place in the garden behind the building. it is quiet there except for the birds (i.e. colibris) that come to visit the garden.i can definitely recommend this school.jürgen barthelmes

She kept me focused, interested, and speaking constantly without ever feeling embarrassed by messing up or saying something wrong. I learned way more in this last month than I had in the previous year or trying. I highly recommend Ada and this school.

Fernando Maquedano: Amazing place; Chef is super knowledgeable and his passion for food and Arequipa made the experience truly unforgetable! I learned more about Peru here than in any museum! You learn all the stories about Peruvian cuisine and Peruvian culture, and of course food was delicious.

4worldlovers: We invite you to participate in this two hours, "HANDS ON", fun, cooking activity in Arequipa, a city where cooking and eating are some of the most important activities for locals!.
You and the small group will prepare HANDS - ON, your Peruvian recipe under the direction of our instructors. No cooking experience is needed. Just good attitude and hunger!.
Learn about Peruvian history and culture, while you prepare your own Peruvian Meal. Feast it and share your impressions.
And once back home repeat the experience with your beloveds. Excellent way to remember your travel experiences in Peru.
A taste of Arequipa's regional cuisine. "Solterito" salad and "Rocoto Relleno", the emblematic local recipe.
Popular Peruvian recipes. "Lomo Saltado" and the colorful "Causa". A lot of fun, great pictures and nice meal.
Unique "Peruvian Ceviche" and a sauced "Macho" fish. A challenge to remember.
Every Menu offers an entrance, a principal dish and a dessert. "Chicha morada" or water. Also beer or wine extra
An open kitchen in a beautiful courtyard. Ample spaces, relaxed environment and all you need to cook.
Intense interaction while cooking. Exchanging travel experiences, listening to local stories, and cooking advises.
Activity is opened every day of the week except for Sunday. Two participants minimum per group.
We have two groups per day, morning at 11 am and afternoon after 3.30 pm

Joost de Groot: Unfortunately, not a very good experience. The class started late. During the class “experience” it was not clear what was going to be cooked. No recipes were provided to the people participating. Following we solely needed to cut some food preparing for the cooking which was done by the instructor and not by the participants. Cooking techniques were not clear. The dishes were not tasteful. All in all a strange and disappointing experience.
Rik Kotter: We booked a cooking class this morning through our hostel that was supposed to be at 4pm (they also have an 11am option). However, slightly after 11am they called us to cancel our class. Since we're leaving tomorrow to Colca Canyon and the morning class has just started, that means we can't a cooking class anymore in Arequipa because of this cancellation.Although we would have still preferred the 4pm option, would they have communicated earlier that they would cancel it, we could've lived with the menu of the morning class, but not even that was possible now.And yes, we know today is the feast of Santa Rosa de Lima (a holiday), but that does not excuse the poor communication on their behalf.

It was just us 2 but the teacher was really helpful and informative, they laid pout the table door us to eat our food and had prepped everything so we came in, learnt how to cut and then cook the food. it was delicious!Bi lingual teacher so we could have the lesson in English, really enjoyed it and look forward to making the dishes when we’re home with the instructions

Chacun prépare (et peut décorer à sa guise) sa propre assiette, les ingrédients sont d'excellente qualité nous nous sommes régalés !Je conseille vraiment cette activité c'était super!Merci beaucoup ! :)
maureen ba: First of all the activity started 15min late while we were asked to arrive 10 min in advance... Not nice.We did the Lomo saltado class, we were 3 people. We paid 75 soles each for 2 hours class. It went well, we did one small meal and then Lomo saltado. It was OK because the chef is really nice but if I have to rate the class, it was not the best.First of all the class lasted 1h45min and during it we ate the meal so we only cooked 1h15min maybe. It did not learn much as the was not technical part, it was really basic.I did not learn anything about Peruvian history or culture and the ingredient were basic, nothing so local.I spent a good moment thanks to the chef but honestly the class is disappointing.

Kim Laura Schönrock: Tolle Schule, mit super Lehrern. Ich war einen Monat hier und konnte mein Spanisch deutlich verbessern. Die Lehrer gehen individuell auf jeden Schüler ein und passen das Tempo des Unterrichts entsprechend an. Außerdem konnte ich die Inhalte des Unterrichts selbst mitbestimmen und so optimal auf meine Bedürfnisse anpassen. Dabei hat mir besonders der Mix aus Grammatik-Übungen und freier Unterhaltung sehr gut gefallen. Außerdem sprechen alle Lehrer neben Spanisch noch zusätzlich Deutsch und/oder Englisch, was das Lernen an der einen oder anderen Stelle ebenfalls erleichtert hat.Arequipa ist zudem eine wirklich schöne Stadt, in der man gut eine längere Zeit verbringen kann.Rundum empfehlenswert! Ich würde jederzeit wieder hier in den Unterricht gehen.
