I was a little concerned since it wasn't a "brand name" but the online forums were right, you get much better treatment and prices from companies like Mountain.They did free pick up & drop off from the airport and were very flexible on the time.The only thing I would caution, which isn't really Mountain's fault, is that Google maps in Arequipa will take you on dirt roads which isn't covered by your rental agreement. Mountain was nice enough to send us a paved alternative and not charge me for the dirt roads I did take.

Ashley S: I rented a 4x4 offroad truck a couple weeks ago, not realizing in Peru everyone drives manual and automatics are rare. I had a whole trip planned, a hotel rented, and on the morning I went to pick it up realized my mistake. José said not to worry, he could get me a driver, and he did very quickly. Saturnina drove me everywhere I wanted to go, was a very good and careful driver, and showed me sights I didn't know about. I felt very safe and welcome and the drive to and from Colca Canyon was one of the most beautiful of my life. If I could rate 10 stars I would, they took very good care of me. Vereinbarter Preis nur bei Barzahlung. Bei Übergabe des Autos lautete es alles ok, keine Schäden. Erst auf meine Aufforderung hin wurden die Kratzer markiert.Bei der Rückgabe wurde natürlich akribisch nach feinsten Kratzern gesucht. Nachdem mir der Mitarbeiter den einen Kratzer nicht anhaften konnte, versuchte er es mit allem Nachdruck bei einem anderen Kratzer. Nach langer Diskussion gab ich nach. Obwohl die Stoßstange mehrmals beschschädigt war und das Lackieren solch eines Bauteils 150 Soles kostet versuchte er mir 180 abzukupfern. Wir einigten uns auf 150.Ich nehme an, dass sie das bei jedem Kunden so machen um ein Nebeneinkommen zu erzielen. Also bitte genau hinschauen beim anmieten! Auch wenn schon Tausend Kratzer drin sind!

Ils ont organisé avec nous l'abandon de la voiture et ce n'etait pas simple avec le confinement. Nous avons reloué le même véhicule avec eux pour reprendre notre voyage il y a 2 mois et ils ont été parfaits. Excellent suivi, excellente confiance. Nous avons rouler en toute tranquillité. La remise du véhicule était parfaite. Bref, je conseille les yeux fermés et je ne comprends pas les avis négatifs (pourtant nous sommes français et exigeants...). rfa2303: I made a reservation through WhatsApp only one day in advance. They were responsive and clear about what I will pay. No after hours drop off.
Marc F: Friendly service, but a bit inflexible. The daily rate is the same for 1 day up to 6 days. If you rent it for 6 days, you get 1 day for free, even if you do not need it. We reserved for 5 days and at pick-up requested an extension for a few hours (in which they would not be able to rent the car to someone else anyway), which we could only get by renting it another day. As 6 days are the same rate as 7 days, we ended up with renting the car for 7 days. When we wanted to return the car the day before, the office was closed, while two days before I called to check if they would be open. After I called, someone came to the office so we could drop the car.An important advantage of G&G is that de deductible is limited (in our case around 1130USD). Some other agencies work with deductibles which are a percentage of the damage (e.g. 20% with a minimum if xxxUSD), which results in quite a risk for the renter.Although they have an office in Cusco, the drop-off rate is very high (equivalent to 3,5 days of rental), but as far as I know, other agencies charge similar rates.We rented a Suzuki Nomade. The car consumes a lot of gas and has no a lot of horsepower. Also the inside cleaning could have been better. Apart from this, were happy with the car. An important plus is that we were allowed to drive on unpaved road, which at some other agencies is not allowed. To my opinion, driving on unpaved roads is one of the major advantaged of renting a car in this area of Peru as on paved roads there is a lot of decent public transport to move around.
